The Type Project was a grant-based research project funded by Kean University's Office of Research & Sponsored Programs. It was awarded a Student Research Award in 2006 by Kean University.

The project culminated in the design of three original typefaces and a 12-page booklet detailing the typographic design process, articles detailing our creative process and inspiration, and typographic illustrations using our typefaces.

An accompanying exhibit titled, "What!? You're Designing a Typeface" was featured at the Thinking Creatively Design Conference 2006 and TypeCon Boston 2006.
